Meet Integra
Hi, I’m Integra — my journey to becoming a doula has been rooted in a lifelong passion for supporting mothers and babies.
My love for caring for little ones began at five years old, helping my great aunt at her home daycare, all the way through nannying as a young adult. As the youngest of 11 siblings, I naturally stepped into the caregiver role — especially after my first niece was born. Spending summers in Georgia helping my sister care for her baby sparked a sense of purpose that has only grown since.
I once dreamed of becoming a pediatrician, then an OBGYN, as I learned more about the unique challenges women of color face during childbirth. I wanted to work directly with women — empowering them with knowledge about their bodies and helping them embrace motherhood.
That path took me to a biology degree, graduate studies at Georgetown, and eventually the BabyBEEs Lab at NYU Langone, where I researched infant development from the perinatal period through early childhood — including stress concordance between mothers and babies and brain development imaging. I loved the research, but I realized my true calling was working directly with families.

“I asked my mom how many of her six children she’d breastfed. Her answer nearly brought me to tears — she said she hadn’t breastfed any of us, because she’d always been told to throw her breastmilk away.”
Hearing that from my own mother — a perfectly healthy woman — alongside similar stories from other women, fueled my passion for this work. I wanted to empower and inform families through their entire birth journey, not just the delivery room.
So I took a leap of faith and became a doula. In many ways, I’d been doing this work my whole life — helping, supporting, and loving on moms and babies. I’m also currently a certified midwifery student, continuing to deepen my clinical knowledge so I can bring an even more informed, collaborative approach to the families I support.
For me, being a doula is about so much more than showing up at a birth — it’s about ensuring women feel heard, supported, and empowered every step of the way. I believe birth is a natural, powerful experience, and that there’s also a place for modern medicine when it complements what our bodies are built to do. My goal is to bring balance: evidence-based practice and holistic care, creating a safe, supported space for mothers and their families.
I’m here to guide, support, and celebrate you on one of the most incredible journeys of your life.
